About Dr. Janice Huntingford
Dr Janice Huntingford graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College, University of Guelph, in Guelph, Ontario and a Board Certified Specialist (Diplomate) in Canine Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine (DACVSMR) in 1984. Being only 1 of 3 in Canada! She is certified in Animal Chiropractic by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association (AVCA), in Animal Acupuncture by the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society, in Chinese herbal Medicine (Chi Institute) and is a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner. In 2007, Dr. Huntingford opened Ontario’s first salt water canine therapy pool and canine rehabilitation centre. Dr. Huntingford also has authored or co-authored several text book chapters on Rehabilitation and published a number of peer reviewed manuscripts. She consults and sits on a number of advisor boards related to herbal medicine, laser therapy and holistic medicine. She teaches regularly at Cornell University and is involved in Resident Training for Canine Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation for Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Huntingford continues to research into the treatment of animal pain. She has published a peer review paper on laser therapy for elbow arthritis and has completed a clinical trial on a unique kidney preparation for aging cats. Her current research is on Agile Joints, a proprietary herbal blend for cats and dogs with osteoarthritis. This project is in collaboration with Dr. Joseph Wakshlag (Cornell University, Ithaca NY and University of Florida, Gainesville, FL).
