The Center of Animal Healing with Dr. Rowan and Rhena Leland
The Center For Animal Healing is a compassionate wellness practice focused on chiropractic care, homeopathy, microcurrent therapy & cold laser therapy, whole food nutrition, and a non-toxic environment. We were honored to have Dr. Rowan, from The Center for Animal Healing, on ‘It’s a Dog’s Life’ and his colleague, Rhena Leland, to discuss their holistic practice in more detail.
Entering the Field
Dr. Rowan discussed how his journey in this field started. He explained “ About 25 years ago, I was having some severe health issues. And I found a chiropractor who said, Do you want to get better? Or do you just want me to keep on treating you know, your symptoms? And so I told him, I really wanted to get well. And he said, Well, we’ll take about two years where I went, I went to see him every day. Actually, I could not hold a subluxation at all. I couldn’t I couldn’t hold an adjustment, I should say. So I had so many subluxations. And within five months, I was completely healthy. I felt like I was 10 years younger.”
He continued to explain, when he started, he had to sort through journals. He knew there was a place somewhere he was searching for. And, that’s when he first started in animal chiropractic. That was about 23 years ago. Once he began implementing chiropractic into his practice, he noticed the animals in his care appeared to feel significantly better without utilizing any pharmaceutical medications. Dr. Rowan said that was the beginning of him swaying away from a conventional-type veterinary practice.
Microcurrent Practices
According to Dr. Rowan, microcurrent therapy is a treatment technique that uses micro currents. Microcurrents are currents that are less than a thousandth of an AMP. The practitioner, as well as the current’s resonance, determine the effect on the tissue to which it is guided. These are very specific currents, and they’re guided at very specific tissues.
To put it another way, the current is measured in milliamps, and the amperage barely registers on the body. This is a current that we all have, a current that runs through our bodies, directing everything through us. And it’s using very precise frequencies to resolve issues like inflammation. For example, there’s a frequency for inflammation in the cord, a frequency for inflammation in the peripheral nerves, and a frequency for inflammation in any tissue in the body.
Rhena is responsible for microcurrent therapy. She explained how this works on the animals they treat. Rhena explained the client brings their dog in, and they come up with a protocol, which varies depending on the dog’s particular ailment. They like to remind clients that everything in the body runs on a specific frequency. Then, when there’s inflammation or damage, that particular frequency is disrupted. As a result, energy would choose the direction with the least amount of resistance. As a result, if there’s an accident, it’ll work through it. But we’re going to reduce the inflammation and reset the particular, specific level that’s just for that condition. ACL fractures, ACL tears, and back injuries, for example, are particularly beneficial when combined with chiropractic treatment.
